OUR VILLAS
Our spacious villas are on the seafront, with sea views and large covered terraces.
They can accommodate up to 6 adults. Each villa has 2 en-suite bedrooms, each sleeping 2, and a loft bedroom sleeping 2.
Our complex is completely environmentally friendly and runs solely on solar energy. So there are no noisy generators or pollution. We have a Starlink for Wi-Fi connection.
We are located on Pulau Simakakangin the centre of Mentawai. We have world-class waves within paddling distance, and guests have access to their own private boat for slightly more remote waves - all within a 15 to 25 minute boat ride!
Depending on your surfing levelthe quiver ideal is made up of 2 shortboards and a bigger board. Your standard board should be able to ride waves up to 1.80 m, and you should have a second board in case you break or drop the first. A back-up board would be useful when the swell exceeds 1.80 m.
A surf photographer is available on request to shoot your surf sessions.

A really fun left. Suitable for all levels of surfers.

Superb left. Deeper water, holds the swell, suitable for all levels of surfers.
Ombak Tidur
Solid line. A deeper straight that can become quite heavy. Suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers.
Suicides
Hollow right. A long barrel de reef which becomes heavy. Suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers.
Telescopes
An excellent left-wing wave. A jewel in the Mentawai centre depending on the swell. Suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers.
Scarecrows
Long, fun, world-class left. Take the swell. Good most of the time. Suitable for all types of surfers.
We find two distinct seasons to the Mentawai:
May to SeptemberDry season - sunshine and little rain
October to Aprill: Wet season - daily showers with sunny spells
The best months for surfing are from June to October with temperatures around 30°C.
