21 May 2015 | Europe

Every week we say hello to our 360° Surf providers. Today, it's Benoit's turn, surf camp in France, to give us some news ! He tells us about his surf spot, his surf camp but also about his good plans and his best memories in the water...

360° Surf : Hi Benoit, can you introduce yourself in 2 words ?

Benoît : Hi, I'm Benoît, the surf camp manager and also a surf instructor.

Can you tell us about surfing at home?

We have beach breaks, white sandy beaches on a large area.

When is the best time to go?

For beginners the best period is the summer, for the experienced September and October offer very good conditions.

Can you give us a spot for beginners, intermediates and advanced?

The spot is good for everyone, depending on the swell, tide and wind...

Describe the spot a bit?

The main beach of Messanges is family friendly and very quiet. There is a phenomenon of "baïne" which must be taken very seriously for beginners... many accidents are noted every year because of the inattention of the bathers. As for the waves, when they exceed 2 metres, they are very hollow and very technical... not to be put under every board!

Tell us about the atmosphere in the line-up?

The atmosphere is relaxed in the summer... but it gets a little tense in the autumn on the most famous peaks.

What is your best story about this spot?

In 2010 the sandbar gave the most beautiful waves of the decade, it was incredible it held all the sizes of swells and all the orientations, that year, the surfers pro who were on the competition on Seignosse came all to score Messanges, it was fun to be in the water on my home spot between Mike Fanning and Kelly Slater!

What are your good plans? Spots, what to see, what to do, where to eat? In short, life there?

To make the fiesta La Hitiliere ! The snack bar on the beach to eat in front of a beautiful Sunset !

What advice would you give to a globetrotter?

Look for September/October, the water is still warm, the weather is good and the summer crowds are gone.

In a few words, why come to you?

The relaxed atmosphere in a nice setting, we offer an authentic stay at 2 surfing brothers...
